Challenge

The Holiday Park Volunteer Fire Department needed to improve firefighter access to the station. In the past, members were issued a key for exterior doors, but using a traditional key system posed several issues.

Solution

“The key benefits of this system include the convenience of not having to carry a key at all times, quicker access to the doors, and the ability to track entry/exit events with the controller software,” said Mike Schuster

Several options were considered when looking for a secure access system for the fire station. Ultimately, a biometric system was chosen as the most flexible option. The department went with BioLite Net devices from Suprema and BioConnect.

“The key benefits of this system include the convenience of not having to carry a key at all times, quicker access to the doors, and the ability to track entry/exit events with the controller software,” said Mike Schuster, the system installer and a firefighter with Holiday Park.

Results

Throughout installation, the department worked with the BioConnect team, who provided both installation assistance and technical support.

“The Suprema BioLite Net devices were easy to install and easy to connect to various door lock configurations,” said Schuster. “The service we received from the BioConnect team was first-rate, and was a key factor in our success with the biometric access system.

The department is now operating with a state-of-the-art and convenient biometric access control system.
