Last month, C100 publically announced that BioConnect is one of 17 Canadian companies invited to take the stage at “48hrs in the Valley.” C100 provides Canadian companies that have game-changing technologies to offer the world a platform for global growth at scale.
C100 is a non-profit, member-driven organization built by successful Canadian investors, entrepreneurs, and executives in Silicon Valley. Twice a year, they invite up to 20 promising young Canadian companies to Silicon Valley for 48 hours of mentorship, networking and investor meetings.
To qualify, these companies must have at least one Canadian co-founder, have a high month-to-month growth rate and have demonstrated market traction. C100 also looks for companies that can receive the most benefit from their time in the Valley, and gives them unparalleled access to an extensive network. “48Hrs in the Valley” has been a signature C100 program with over 200 alumni companies since 2010. These companies have collectively raised over $3.3 billion in funding to date.
BioConnect will be looking to make meaningful connections with smart and talented teams. “We are excited to gather new insights from incredible CEOs and other growing companies on how to continue to innovate and propel our next growth phase forward,” said Rob Douglas, Founder and CEO of BioConnect. “We look forward to building some new partnerships and sharing how our Quest for Rightful Identity can make a global impact.”
BioConnect’s Quest for Rightful Identity is based on the premise that society’s current identity system of cards, key fobs, PINs and passwords creates unnecessary friction, among other issues, in our lives. Because these technologies are not unique to a person, it leaves people with nothing more than suspect identity. BioConnect’s platform approach to identity enables enterprises across multiple industries to leverage their rightful identity, unique characteristics called biometrics, as an authentication strategy that is both device and system agnostic. Its disruptive technology has been proven in the access control industry and is rapidly expanding into into logical applications (computers, phones), IoT, machine learning and other applications.
“The next phase of BioConnect’s strategy will see us fundamentally changing how society accesses applications, processes, equipment, cars, or anything else that requires you to prove who you are.”
“’48Hrs in the Valley’ will be a fantastic launching pad for this new phase we are experiencing at BioConnect and in the world of biometrics…. We are thankful for C100 to have picked us among such incredible peers in the Canadian landscape.”
Key members of the BioConnect team will be travelling to Silicon Valley at the end of June to join C100 and the other chosen companies for the “48hrs in the Valley” program.
With over 1600 Customers and 60 Partnerships globally, BioConnect provides an enterprise biometric authentication and security platform to establish stronger trust in verifying a person’s identity across physical, IOT and digital applications.
